Puerto Rico, one of the best strategy games ever, has got a "small brother": San Juan. Not the entire island anymore, but only its capital is at the heart of this game. Who builds the most important buildings here? Whether palace or armored house, whether silver melt or gold pit, each building brings special advantages. Who's the smartest builder? Who wins?
San Juan doesn't require as much strategic assets and smart previews as Puerto Rico. It can therefore be played significantly simpler and faster, but otherwise it includes the same original basic mechanisms and always varied playbacks as the big game. In every game you discover something new...
San Juan was played at the final of the German Team Championships in Herne in 2004.
