Players rebuild the old town of Medina. Around the newly created palaces, Marktgasse is reviving the streets. The old city wall is rebuilt. All players have the same number of components with which they build the palaces in the four colors. If a player has the feeling that the palace is now large enough, he puts a roof on the palace and takes possession of it. Then he can't take a palace in this color. So it's about taking the right time. The game can also decide the market lane, which can greatly increase the value of the towers, as well as the extra points for the towers in the corners.
Medina is a game that depends a little on the right neighbour. Nevertheless, it is a great fun for tactics and has not occupied 2nd place directly behind Carcassonne in 2001. Medina is implemented in the BrettspielWelt according to the rules of the German team championships in Brettspiel 2003. Especially, the game here impresses with the clarity that sometimes lacks real.
