In the Kingdom of Lydia, King Krösus coined the first coin in the world. It consists of the legendary gold-silver alloy electrons that occur in the river Paktolos. From then on, traditional exchanges throughout the ancient world are replaced by coins as means of payment.
"Lions of Lydia" is based on the playing mechanisms "Engine Building" and "Bag Management". You are an influential ruler who sends his merchants to the city gates to drive exchanges and thereby to multiply his resources and lands. In doing so, the noble lyd merchants circulate gold coins that have an unprecedented purchasing power.
In order to win, you need to cleverly assemble the merchants in your bag and support their skills through your lands. Traditional merchants introduce simple resources you need for your engine building – but if you don't exchange your goods in gold and silver, you can't buy the most valuable countries! Noble lydical merchants – along with their golden lion head coins – finally take over the lead at this important economic-historical turning point. Once enough lands are upgraded, the game ends and one or one will be a winner or a winner!
