In Sauscharf you first collect chili cards and then prepare sauces with them. The hotter a chili sauce is, the more victory points it earns. The game ends as soon as at least one of you has prepared the specified number of chili sauces and no longer has any chili cards. Whoever has the most victory points wins the game!
You can download the complete rules here.
You can choose between There are 3 levels of difficulty (mild - hot - extremely hot) - the number of cards in hand and the level of spiciness of the chili sauces vary depending on this.
There are 104 number cards with values from 1 - 13 (8 each) and 6 jokers, as well as 22 chili sauce cards with levels of spiciness 2 - 9.
At the beginning, the card display is filled from the draw pile so that the same card values are in each column (maximum 3 - otherwise a new column is opened). Any revealed jokers are always placed individually in a column.
You start each round by playing chili cards from your hand. These determine the turn order for the rest of the round.
The starting player plays a combination by clicking on the corresponding cards and the arrow. A combination consists of any one or more cards in hand with the same value. The others follow in a clockwise direction and each play a combination.
Jokers take on the value of the cards with which you play them together. If you lay out jokers without number cards, they are higher than any other individual value.
Whoever has played the most cards comes out as First to the train. If several of you have played the same number of cards, the higher value decides. If the number of cards and their value are identical, the combination played first is higher.
The player whose turn it is takes all the cards in a column from the display and places them on their ingredient pile. You can also pass and not take a card ("click the pass" symbol).
You then decide whether you want to keep the combination you played or not. If so, it is also placed face down on the ingredient pile. Otherwise it goes onto the discard pile.
You can view the cards in your ingredient pile at any time by clicking on the pile.
Then it is the turn of the person with the next highest combination.
After each of you has had a turn, the round ends. For the next round, the empty columns of the card display are filled again.
You play round after round until no one has any more cards in their hand. Then phase 1 ends.
At the beginning of phase 2, chili sauce cards are revealed (always 2 more than other players).
The cards from the ingredients pile from phase 1 become the new hand cards.
In this phase, too, you determine your turn order at the beginning of each round by playing a combination.
Whoever's turn it is can either do as in Phase 1 Collect chilis or decide to prepare a chili sauce
You can see how many victory points a chili sauce brings on the right Side of the sauce tile.
The left area of each sauce shows the level of spiciness. This indicates how many of the same chili cards you must have played at least when determining the turn order in order to prepare the sauce.
If you prepare a chili sauce, you must use all the chili cards from before Place the combination played on the discard pile and receive the corresponding chili sauce card.
Special promotion:
{ 5}In phase 2 you can decide not to play a combination (by clicking on the "play" symbol).
This means that you do not collect chilies or prepare sauces this round. Instead, you take the entire stack of ingredients into your hand.
Together with the cards in your hand, you have all of your chili cards available in the next round.
After everyone has finished their turn, the empty columns of the card display are filled and the previously taken chili sauces in the display are replaced with new ones.
If you now have no more cards in your hand, you pick up your ingredient stack for the next round.
As usual, a new round begins with combinations being played.
The end of the game is heralded as soon as someone has prepared the required number of chili sauces and has neither chili cards in their hand nor in the ingredient stack. span>
Depending on how many people are taking part in the game and the difficulty level you are playing, the number of sauces required varies.
Important: You may not prepare more chili sauces than indicated in the table!
If someone brings about the end of the game as described, the current round will be played to the end. The game then ends.
Victory points on your chili sauces are plus points.
Each chili card that you still have in your hand or in the ingredient stack counts as one minus point. The numerical values do not matter here.
Whoever has the most points wins the chili sauce cooking competition! In the event of a tie, there are multiple winners.
