There are some very simple rules for playing in the BSW:

  • The games are played in real time, so if you want to open a game or are already playing.
  • Please finish the game only prematurely in agreement (/masterreset) of all players involved. If there is no agreement, the game only ends with one of the regular end conditions.
  • You play fair and avoid using rule gaps.
  • Also on lost post in the game you continue to play and hope for a new chance or lose with decency.
  • Before you start the game, please ask the other players in the room whether they want to play again instead of joining. Please note that in some games, the point distribution will be displayed after completion, which some players would like to see (for example: 7Wonders, StoneAge or KingdomBuilder). This is no longer possible by /reset or /join.
  • If you join a game directly from the manager, you will first see how the conditions are in the room. You don't just start the game but wait to see if other players want to participate.
  • If you notice that someone is not so sure about the game: give him help.
  • Please have some patience if someone plays slower than you.
  • Please read the instructions before playing a game for the first time. If you've never played a game (or only very rare) before, ask your fellow players whether it's okay for them.
  • If you have to go away urgently (offline), please look for replacement (Info: For the replacement search there are many channels, such as the /channel replacement, where you will definitely find nice people) or let me know that it won't take long until you get back (e.g. mom short door)
  • If you crashed (this has already happened to all of us), please come back to the table. If this is not possible, excuse yourself as soon as possible with your fellow players (e.g. via /tell or in the forum via PN (private message). You can also, in order to be sure to go, simply let in the /channel fairness, there may be a complaint.
  • If a player vanishes from the table, please wait a reasonable time before you jump over a supposed break. In the case of a connection termination, it takes time to restart a router and/or computer.
  • Please look at insults of any kind (you do not want to be insulted).
  • Leave racist statements of any kind!
  • If you need to report a user on the basis of extreme overruns of rules, please remember that the fairness team’s users are also only people and can’t always react immediately as they like to play.
  • Do not use your commands to annoy others with it, throw out the game or “remove” unpopular players.
  • Before you complain about misconducts of others as an experienced BSWler, check whether you have used all the technical options you have given to do not first experience any unwanted behavior (/option host against unquested joining, /option exp 4 or 5 against overflows from the manager, /option invisible to be able to retire the table with the desired options...)
  • The members of the BrettspielWelt accept their different interests and roles and commit themselves to solving and not to take personal conflicts.

In short, just behave like you're playing at home with nice people in a cozy round.
